Although Cushman & Wakefield had been in the Puget Sound market for over 20 years, they had yet to capture a significant portion of the market share.
Solution
Cushman & Wakefield needed immediate re-introduction to the Seattle commercial real estate market to build their brand and position them for growth. Working closely with the Cushman management and their New York corporate headquarters, Joanne produced a quarterly series of face-to-face meetings between leading regional media reporters and Cushman brokers, managers and researchers.
Additionally, she created opportunities to showcase the expertise of the brokers and research arms at Cushman in the media through authored articles, interviews, award nominations and advertising while working with various brokers to pitch new transaction activity to the media on a regular basis. Todd offered strategic counsel to management on special events, speaking opportunities, media training and community participation activities.
Results
Within a year, Cushman & Wakefield was established as the commercial brokerage firm in town with the most reliable research and its brokers positioned as the “go-to” experts for reporters when looking for comment or quotes for a wide number of regional commercial real estate stories.
The Senior Managing Director was named as a “40 Under 40” recipient.
Coverage ranged over 65 stories in the media, including: The Seattle Times using Cushman data, charts and quotes in two major stories about regional real estate activity; two stories utilizing Cushman data and interviews appeared in Western Commercial Real Estate Magazine; MSNBC used the quarterly reports in a nationwide story while quoting Cushman’s Seattle Research Associate; significant coverage of large biotech deal in Snohomish county in regional press and business wires; and numerous mentions and stories including quotes from Cushman brokers.
